Thanks !My problem, as others has already said, was not due to a "shittyfile." but a "shittyfile.xls " .... None of the above worked directly, but a variation/combination of posts led me to try this, which worked:1. Finally, I can delete that annoying file on my office pc desktop.... Close Notepad and go to the file again , right click on it and delete.

I had a few of these files that came from.......a MAC. The process cannot access the file because it is being used by another process.

That seems to cause problems with windows, as I can delete one of those files, but if I try to delete the other (or access it) it says the location on I've had two files stuck in a folder for months that I hadn't been able to get rid of.
